This lovingly restored former miners’ cottage offers stunning views of rolling hills, paddocks with sheep and chickens, and easy access to the local reserve.

Just a short walk away, explore the nearby Windows Walk, renowned for its stunning views and intriguing tunnels, including a 1km tunnel that takes you deep into the gorge’s mining past. The nearby river is perfect for swimming and hunting for crystals and gold. The cottage blends historical character with modern comforts, offering a unique and memorable stay, though it intentionally lacks TV and internet, encouraging quality time together and a nostalgic escape from modern distractions. For cycling enthusiasts, bikes are available for hire to explore the scenic rail trail. Located just a 6-minute drive from Paeroa and 15 minutes from Waihi, Crown Ridge Miners Cottage offers a unique blend of history, tranquility, and adventure.

Please note: Our cottage is intended for adult guests only (children are not permitted). 1-2 guests standard, additional guests attract $20 per person per night. Check in from 3:00pm, check out at 11:00am. No smoking or vaping inside.

“The idea of staying in a miners cottage, so it exceeded our expectation in comfort, ease of parking, the cottage was pristine clean and the bed very comfortable with lots of extra blankets for the colder weather. We liked being beside the well cared for anmals and sitting out watching beautiful sunsets. We also enjoyed the quirkiness of some of the decor, the kauri Benchtop, the display table and especially the photos on the walls”
